Laker’s Love in Boston – NBA Finals Game 4

10 Jun

So, with a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals, The Los Angeles Lakers head back into the TD Garden to battle with the lowly, ragged, sad Celtics. In honor of such an awesome Lakers fan, showing some love for his team in a city that wants nothing more than to demolish you.
RESPECT!

LA vs Boston

On a smaller side note….WHAT THE HELL IS MICHAEL JORDAN ROCKING ON HIS FACE?

It's Never OK to wear the Hitler Stache

BOTTOM LINE: It is never OK to rock the “Hitler Stache”. NEVER. Here is a closer look at the choice that Michael made.

Terrible Choice

So, I think it goes without saying that his publicist/stylist/whoever needs to be fired. And if he doesn’t use a publicist/stylist/whatever, then, well, people need to call that guy. I’ve always heard rumors that he wasn’t the most approachable guy off the court, but this is too much. You should boycott Hanes. Still don’t understand how nobody on the commercial shoot noticed this on his face. Amazing.

Video Wednesday!

2 Jun

So, usually Video Wednesday is reserved for actual music videos…but in the spirit of The Los Angeles Lakers reaching the NBA Finals for the 3rd year in a row, I figured this song would be much more fitting. So, courtesy of 105.9 Power FM, here is “The Laker’s Anthem: 2010 “

and….because I like him so much, here is a video from Mayer Hawthorne, “Just Ain’t Gonna Work Out”

Outside Lands 2010

1 Jun

And, the full line-up was just announced for the wonderful Outside Lands Music Festival in San Fransisco’s lovely Golden Gate Park. I went the first year, when Radiohead headlined, and it was such a wonderful time that I am more than excited to return this year. I think I am most excited about seeing Mayer Hawthorne and The County, Al Green, Blackstar, and of course, the wonderful My Morning Jacket (who, coincidently, I am also seeing at The Greek Theater in LA on the Thursday before Outside Lands…yeah, I like the band…) And since, the line up was literally just released, I’d figure I’d post the video here. So, San Fran….I’ll be seeing you soon.

Freeze Frame!

21 May

So, sometimes, I like to pause the TV and take a picture of a rediculous scene that is happeneing. It could be a face, or a pose, or really anything. And more often than not, my friends and I usually sit there laughing at a paused TV screen for a few minutes. So, I proudly present the first installment of “Freeze Frame!”

I would love it if you would send me your pictures as well, and I can post them here or on www.fbrponline.com! Send your pictures HERE!

To Start it off, I thought this picture was an apt description of a horrible, horrible TV show. I couldn’t have said it better myself

And just when you think they have discovered all possible movie ideas…

So, this guy is evidently a “music producer” and he gave the world the newest single from one of the HouseWives of New York. Yes, you may throw a creamed pie at him if you see him in person.

This guy is a tuxedo/suit model, and he looks like he is about to poop himself. Solid facial gesture, bonus points.

And one more fun one, my lovely girlfriend recieved this oddly-shaped chicken finger at Knowlwoods (An amazing place, if you’re in OC, you probably already know, but still, go again anyway…) Its either a sign that we should go to South America, or that South America is coming to us. I’m going with the former…

So, that’s all for now! Send some in so I can post them here!

Happy Birthday Jenna Marie

20 May

Yeeeaaaaaaah!

So, in honor of today being my sister’s birthday, I thought I would share a video with you that reminds me of her. She used to listen to this Amy Grant Christmas CD non-stop, and while I was off listening to Bad Religion (and blaring it at in my room), she was bumpin’ Amy Grant, and she loved it. And to be honest, that’s my sister in a nutshell. She enjoys what she does and she will tell you exactly how she feels about it. She has accomplished a lot in her short time on this planet, and I couldn’t be more proud to call her my sister.

I love you Lu, congratulations on the graduation as well. This one is for you.

And because I couldn’t find the video for a christmas song…I present, the classic Amy Grant “Baby, Baby”….

aaaaaaaand, I’m out!

Tire Puncture in the Afternoon

5 May

I had a really good idea for a post today…but it will have to wait until Friday…

Well, this afternoon was shaping up to be a solid one. I took a later lunch than usual, and since I have moved much closer to my office, decided to head home and watch some It’s Always Sunny for lunch. Well, that was the plan. After I ate, I walked down to my car, and walked by the back left tire and looked down, took another step forward, and then turned back around to confirm my suspicion: “Yep, that’s a nail in your tire bro…”. And, its right in the side wall of the tire, not like I ran over it…

So, I took a few photos, and then slowly drove down the street to a used tire place, scored a sweet deal on a used, and headed back to work.

Oh Wednesdays…you slay me.

Amazing WiFi Names

26 Apr

So, I have decided to start a new feature on The Wild World, and well, its about amazing wifi names! I must admit that mine is uber-boring, but some people have really stepped up their game. To really set yourself apart, you need to name your WiFi with a name that people will see and be like, “Wow, I need to get on that connection, that is truly amazing.” But, if you can’t get to that point, you can also make one like this guy…

I mean, with a WiFi Name like that, you know people are not only going to take notice but they’ll probably say to themselves, ” Well, I guess i live next to 3 jews and an asian….”. And now, your the winner.

BBQ Weekend

20 Apr

Well, its been a busy few weeks. Working full time, trying to start a consulting business on the side as well as doing the normal FBRP stuff…it gets to you after a while. While I love it all, sometimes, its a lot to take on. But, then I think about how lucky I am just to have that type of problem….and…it could be way worse…

So, what do I do when I am overwhelmed? I cook. I made burgers for my lady friend and I this past week. It was a simple marinade that I rubbed into ground chuck and then formed patties. Topped with a slice of mild cheddar and a sourdough crotini roll. And then I toasted up some steak fries to serve with the burger. Solid.
BBQ ingredientsAs you can see, I combined the ingredients into a mixing bowl, added the beef, and went to town. As you can see here, this is right after I threw the cheddar on the burgers. And finally, a finished product. A solid Thursday night.

This past weekend, we had a BBQ at my parents house for a few friends. While the normal relaxing, beer-pong tourney playin’ times were all accounted for, I also whipped up a batch of my famous Tater Tot Casserole. While the ingredients are known to a select few, the taste is universally accepted as “awesome” or “amazing”. Don’t believe me? Well, I guess I’ll have to make it for you too! And when I open a restaurant, this will be the featured side dish. Real talk.

And to finish up this post, I’d like to share a song with you. My partner in crime, Mikey Karlin (or @mikekarlin if you’re feeling twitter-y) saw the band She and Him last week at the Glasshouse in Pomona. Excellent show. While some songs blend together, I really like the new album (Volume 2)and they played my two favorite songs (sentimental heart and sweet darling) from their first album, Volume 1, so I was a pretty happy camper. Thanks for taking me Mikey, it was like old times. We should make it happen more often. So, here is a video from She and Him, from the show I went to, with their encore of “Sweet Darling“. Enjoy.

….and I’m out!
